Many men delay health check-ups or find it hard to talk about stress, low mood or worries. Small, regular steps can make a real difference.

Prevention basics

  • Have your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar checked as advised.
  • Stay active and keep a healthy diet.
  • Limit alcohol and avoid tobacco.
  • Ask about screening that is relevant to your age and family history.

Mental wellbeing

Feeling low, anxious or constantly stressed is common and treatable. Talking to a friend, a doctor or a counselor is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Do not ignore these

See a doctor if you notice unexplained weight loss, persistent pain, blood in urine or stool, a lump, or changes that last more than a couple of weeks.

If you are in crisis: If you are having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right now.
